How much does outdoor boat storage cost in Muskoka?
In Muskoka, outdoor storage prices depend almost entirely on boat length. Longer boats take more linear footage of the lot, require heavier cribbing, and are harder to maneuver. The table below shows the 2026/27 season pricing at Shrink Wrap Muskoka.
| Boat Length | Storage Season (October through May) |
|---|---|
| Jet ski / Sea-Doo, under 16 ft | $395 flat |
| 16 to 25 ft (bow rider, wake boat) | $30/ft · e.g. 22 ft = $660 |
| 25 to 29 ft | $44/ft · e.g. 27 ft = $1,188 |
| 30 ft and over | $50/ft · e.g. 32 ft = $1,600 |
These prices cover the storage period only. Shrink wrapping, pickup, and spring commissioning are priced separately.
What does shrink wrapping cost on top of storage?
In Muskoka, shrink wrap is almost always the right call for outdoor winter storage. At Shrink Wrap Muskoka, shrink wrap is $20 per foot at our facility, or $26 per foot if we come to you (with a $498 minimum call-out, or $295 for a jet ski). A 22 ft boat wrapped at our facility is $440. The wrap includes a central support frame (to prevent snow pooling), a ventilation strap, and heat-shrinking by a trained technician. The price covers materials and labour.
Most cottagers book storage and shrink wrap together. The two services can also be booked separately if you already have a cover arrangement or plan to haul the boat yourself.
Are there pickup and delivery fees?
Yes, and the price depends on how we reach the boat, not on how far away you are. There are three pickup methods, and each price is a round trip: it covers both the October haul-out and the spring return.
| Pickup method | What it means | Round trip (fall + spring) |
|---|---|---|
| Public ramp | You meet us at a public launch ramp | $245 |
| Driveway | We collect the boat on its trailer from your property | $295 |
| Dock | We collect the boat from your cottage dock | $445 |
| Self drop-off | You bring it to us and collect it in spring | Free |
Each price above already includes the spring return, so there is no second charge in May. See the full pickup and dropoff service guide for details on how the service works.
Why do prices vary between storage facilities?
In Muskoka, price differences between storage operators come down to four factors: whether the facility is insured (and how much), whether it is properly zoned for commercial boat storage, whether the lot is fenced and monitored, and whether pickup is included or extra. Facilities that advertise very low rates often offset costs by skipping bailee's insurance, storing on agricultural land, or leaving boats unmonitored through winter. Shrink Wrap Muskoka carries $5M commercial general liability and bailee's coverage, operates on correctly zoned land, and monitors the site continuously.
Is there a deposit required?
Reserving with a deposit takes 25% of your total and holds your space, with the balance due when we collect the boat in October. A deposit does not carry a discount. Paying the full amount at booking by card takes 25% off your winter storage instead. Nothing is charged until your space is confirmed. See our FAQ for more on the booking process.
Is there a discount for paying in full?
Yes. Pay in full by card at booking and your winter storage is 25% off, so a 16 to 25 ft boat stores for $22.50 a foot instead of $30. A 22 ft boat comes to $495 for the season. The discount is on storage only. Shrink wrapping, winterization, pickup and spring commissioning are always at the regular price. Full details are on the Pricing page.
What is not included in the storage price?
The base storage price does not include:
- Shrink wrap or canvas cover
- Pickup from or delivery to your dock or driveway
- Engine winterization (flushing, fogging, antifreeze treatment)
- Battery removal or trickle charging
- Trailer storage (add-on, priced separately)
- Spring commissioning or detailing
All of these services are available as add-ons. See the Services page for the full list and what each includes.
