Terms of Service

Last updated 16 August 2026

These are the terms that apply when you book boat storage, shrink wrapping, winterization or transport with us. Booking a spot means you accept them. We have tried to write them the way we would explain them to you on the phone.

01Who you are contracting with

Shrink Wrap Muskoka, a Muskoka Detail company, of 215 Main St W, Bay Door B7, Huntsville, Ontario P1H 1Y1. In these terms “we” and “us” mean Shrink Wrap Muskoka, and “you” means the person booking the service. The address above is our office. The storage yard is at a separate private location, which we give to confirmed customers only and which is not open for visits.

02What we provide

Outdoor seasonal boat storage, certified shrink wrapping, engine and plumbing winterization, battery service, pickup and spring return, spring commissioning, and detailing through Muskoka Detail. You pay only for the services you select when you book.

Storage is outdoors. Boats are stored on a private, monitored, unroofed lot. We do not offer indoor or heated storage. If your boat needs to be under a roof, we are not the right fit and we would rather tell you now.

03The season

The storage season runs October through May, six months. Exact pickup and return dates depend on weather, ice-out and the order of the schedule. We will agree a window with you rather than a fixed date, and we will contact you before we come. Boats left past the end of the season may be charged month to month at our then-current rate.

04Pricing

Every rate is published on our Pricing page and shown to you in the booking form before you pay. The price you are quoted at booking is the price you pay for the services you selected. Prices are in Canadian dollars and do not include HST unless stated.

Storage is priced by boat length, measured tip to stern including any swim platform, rounded up to the nearest foot. If the boat turns out to be materially longer than what you told us, we will re-measure it and adjust the price to the correct tier, and we will tell you before we do. Services added after booking are charged at full price and are not covered by any early-booking discount already applied.

05Discounts

For the 2026/27 season, booking on or before 1 September 2026:

The discount applies to every line item, not only storage. A marina or dealer partner code takes a further $50 off. After 1 September pricing returns to standard. Spots are limited and are allocated in the order they are booked.

06Payment

A deposit of 25% of your season total confirms your spot. The balance is due at pickup in October. If you choose the pay-in-full option, the discounted total is charged at booking. We accept e-transfer and credit card. Card payments are processed by Stripe; we never receive or store your card number.

07Cancellation and refunds

When you cancelWhat happens
On or before 1 SeptemberYour deposit is refunded in full.
After 1 SeptemberYour deposit is non-refundable, but it is transferable. We hold the credit on file and it carries to the following season.
Any add-on service we have not yet performedRefunded.

If we cancel, or cannot provide a spot we have confirmed, you get a full refund of everything you have paid, including the deposit.

08Your obligations

09Insurance and responsibility for your boat

We carry commercial general liability cover to $5 million and bailee’s coverage, which applies to boats in our care, custody and control. We will provide our certificate of insurance on request.

You should keep your own hull insurance in force through the storage season. Our cover responds to loss or damage we are responsible for. It is not a substitute for your own policy, and it does not cover everything that can happen to a boat over a Muskoka winter.

We are not responsible for:

10Shrink wrap

We wrap with 9 mil marine-grade film on a vented support frame. We guarantee our wrap quality: if our wrap fails through the winter because of how we installed it, we will repair it at no charge. That guarantee does not extend to damage from extraordinary weather, from someone else altering the wrap, or from a customer-supplied cover.

11Photographs

We photograph your boat at intake, after wrapping, and once mid-winter, and those photographs form part of your booking record. We may use general photographs of wrapped and stored boats in our own marketing. If you would rather your boat did not appear in anything public, tell us and we will not use it. We will never publish your name, your address, or your boat’s registration alongside an image.

12Unclaimed boats

If a boat remains unclaimed and unpaid for more than 90 days past the end of the season, and after we have made reasonable efforts to reach you at the contact details you gave us, we may exercise our rights under Ontario’s Repair and Storage Liens Act to recover what is owed. We would always rather sort it out with a phone call.

13Limitation of liability

Except where our insurance responds as described in section 9, and to the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim connected to these services is limited to the amount you paid us for the season in question. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as a missed season, loss of use, or loss of profit.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for personal injury or death caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Nothing here takes away rights you have under Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act.

14If something goes wrong

Call us. Owner-operated means the person who can fix it answers the phone. Most problems are resolved the same day and we would much rather hear about it directly than read it later.

15Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the laws of Canada that apply there, and the courts of Ontario have jurisdiction.

16Changes

We may update these terms. The version that applies to your booking is the version published when you booked, and we will keep the date at the top current. We will not change the price or the cancellation terms of a booking you have already made.
